Parents Convicted of Murder for Daughter’s Death

A Riverside County, California couple has been convicted of murdering their 17-year-old daughter.

When police found Nanette Latham in her home, she was unresponsive. Latham, a type-1 diabetic, had a blood glucose level of 1295, more than twice the level at which someone could slip into a coma. On the way to the hospital, Latham suffered a cardiac arrest and passed away. Prosecutors say Latham suffered a great deal in the days leading up to her death.

Latham's parents, Gregory Lee Latham and Yvonne Dee Latham, were both convicted of second-degree murder and felony child endangerment. A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for April 30, but both face 15 years to life in prison.
