94-Year-Old Woman Arrested at Border for Pot Smuggling

According to U.S. Customs and Border Patrol officers in Arizona, a 94-year-old Mexican woman tried to smuggle close to 11 pounds of marijuana across the border and into the U.S.
The woman was supposedly coming into the country for a day of shopping, but an officer became suspicious and ordered an additional inspection. Upon that inspection, officers found 10.5 pounds of marijuana in six bundles strapped to the woman's body from her torso to her legs. The estimated street value of the pot is $5,250.
The woman, from the Mexican town of Sonora, was arrested and turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
