North Carolina Man Charged with Rape of Two Girls

Police report that in Conover, North Carolina, a man has been charged with
rape and incest. Prior to being charged, the man was accused of abducting two girls, ages 11 and 12, and taking them to another state.
The man, 40 year old Matthew Hess was arrested by law enforcement just last week after an Amber Alert was issued following the abduction of the two girls, who were from the state of Tennessee. At the time of the abduction, it is reported that the 12 year old girl was 9 months pregnant. When authorities found her, she was taken to a hospital where she gave birth to her child.
Police say that originally, Hess has been charged with one count of misdemeanor child abuse and also one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. This Monday, arrest warrants were issued for additional charges of indecent liberties with a child, first-degree rape and also felony incest. At this time, the victims' names have been kept confidential to protect their privacy as they are minors.
