New Jersey Man Charged with Internet Theft of $111,000

In Trenton,
New Jersey, it is being reported that a man has recently been indicted for internet theft. According to news sources, the man was accused of stealing a valuable Internet domain, which he then sold on popular e-commerce site, e-Bay. The man auctioned the domain to a former NBA player for $111,000.
This past Monday, a grand jury indicted Daniel Goncalves on charges of theft by unlawful taking, theft by deception, identity theft and falsifying records. Goncalves is 25 years old and a resident of Union.
Prior to his arrest in July 2009, authorities discovered that Goncalves hacked an account that was managed by Go Daddy Group registration in 2006. He then transferred the domain name P2P.com to his own Go Daddy account. Later, he auctioned it to Mark Madsen. Madsen used to play for the Los Angeles Lakers and also the Minnesota Timberwolves. He had no knowledge that the domain he purchased had been stolen.
Many calls have been placed to Goncalves criminal defense attorney, but none have been returned. If convicted, Goncalves may face imprisonment, fines and probation.
