Minnesota Woman Sentenced for Drug Crime Charges

News sources in Minnesota report that a woman who is a resident of Vining will have to pay a $1,000 fine for her connection with a 3rd degree drug crime.  The woman, 23 year old Danielle Jean Vizenor, received sentencing last week after she pled guilty to a drug crime she had been charged with in July of 2008.  Aside from having to pay a fine, Vizenor was placed on supervised probation in place of having to spend 25 years in jail.  The sentence was ordered by an Otter Trail County District Court Judge.

On February 27th, police placed Vizenor under arrest after the West Central Minnesota Drug Task Force obtained a search warrant and proceeded to search the residence in Vining, MN, where Vizenor had been staying.  In a criminal complaint, police reported that Vizenor had sold approximately $400 worth of methamphetamines a few days prior to an undercover police informant.

While searching the Vining residence, police found two plastic bags that were filled with methamphetamines, numerous glass pipes with drug residue and a manual that described in detail how people could manufacture methamphetamines.   The drug bust was quite alarming to the community as the residence is located merely 60 feet from the Vining Community Center and a public park that children frequent.

During the search, Minnesota law enforcement also arrested 3 other individuals.  Those individuals were 54 year old Michael Buchanan (charged with 3rd degree possession of methamphetamine and receipt of stolen property), 30 year old Jesse Allan McManigle (charged with 3rd degree controlled substance offense) and 20 year old Joel James McManigle (charged with 3rd degree controlled substance offense).
