Girl Dies in Suspected Arson Fire in Iowa

In Des Moines, Iowa, a hospital official just announced that a young girl died yesterday after sustaining injuries during a fire.  At first, police were unsure how the fire started, but they now suspect that it was an arson related fire.

According to spokeswoman, Jennifer Perry, 10 year old Czu Toffoi died Sunday night in Blank Children's hospital while receiving treatment for her many injuries.  Police report that the girl and her grandparents, Sieh and Annie Toffoi, incurred critical injuries on Saturday night after a lethal fire broke out in their house, which was divided into two separate apartments.

Shortly after the incident, the grandparents were taken to University Hospitals in Iowa City.  Their condition was not available or released to news sources.  Aside from the injuries of the family, a firefighter was also injured from smoke inhalation.  He received immediate medical treatment and was later released.

Several witnesses told Des Moines police that a man lit a chair in his bedroom on fire.  The police found the man and brought him in for questioning, but did not file any charges against him for the suspected arson.
