Security Officer Facing Extortion Charges in Louisiana

In St. Francisville, Louisiana, a security officer has been placed under arrest. West Feliciana Parish sheriff's deputies arrested the Louisiana State Penitentiary security officer after she was accused of giving an inmate a cell phone and in exchange for money she received from the prisoner's family.
Police report that Sheriff J. Austin Daniel arrested 30 year old Master Sergeant Candice Honeycutt of Angola this past Friday. The security officer was accused of furnishing the cell phone and accepting $7,500 from the prisoner.
Honeycutt was booked on charges of
extortion by state deputies. She was also charged with malfeasance and introduction of contraband. She was released from police custody on bond shortly after her arrest.
