Can I get in trouble for taking a photocopier from work?

Details
There was an old photocopier and laptop laying around the office after they were replaced with new ones. I took them home since I figured that no one wanted them. Afterwards, people around the office started asking where they were. What should I do? Can I go to jail for this?

This could be considered a criminal offense if the property owner, (presumably the business itself) decided to report the theft to authorities. The best action would probably be to simply approach the appropriate individual within the business, admit the mistake, apologize and return the items that were taken. Admitting the mistake could go a long way with many business owners. In the event that some sort of legal action is taken, speak with an attorney in your area to find out what your best options are and what you'll need to do next.
