What Can be Considered Disorderly Conduct?

By De Castroverde Law Group  Jan. 9, 2011 4:10p

The term "disorderly conduct" is a rather general term, but it does have some specific description in the eyes of the law. Disorderly conduct is not an uncommon occurrence in Las Vegas for it is a city that attracts many people from outside areas who come to enjoy the entertainment, casinos and abundant night life. Following are a few actions that are categorized as disorderly conduct:

  • Inciting a disturbance
  • Being actively involved in a fight
  • Disturbing the peace
  • Challenging another to a fight
  • Harassing, annoying or otherwise interfering with another with the intention of causing a disturbance

Disorderly conduct is a charge that law enforcement can easily use when they feel someone is instigating trouble and people are charged with it when troubles arise in bars, casinos and other places where crowds gather, mainly on the strip.

Penalties

In Nevada, disorderly conduct is considered a misdemeanor and one can be sentenced up to six months in jail and also be subject to monetary fines up to $1,000.00. If you have been charged with disorderly conduct in the Las Vegas area, it would be in your best interests to contact a Las Vegas criminal defense attorney to increase your chances of staying out of jail.
