Paul Stanko
Owner Attorney
Paul Stanko has practiced criminal law since January 1979 when, at the age of 23, he became one of Indiana's youngest lawyers and prosecutors. At the age of 30 he became presiding judge of one of Indiana's busiest courts. Since 1992, he has devoted himself to the defense of persons accused of crimes throughout Indiana.
Paul's more than three decades of experience on all three sides of the courtroom (prosecution, defense, and judicial) place him in a select group of Indiana's most experioenced criminal lawyers.
As a retired judge, Paul is a prominent member of the American Judges Association, serving on the Board of Governors, as Historian, and on the Membership Committee.
Paul is highly rated on Avvo, by Martindale-Hubbell, and is designated a "Top 100 Trial Lawyer" by The National Trial Lawyers. He is acknowledged as an expert in all areas of criminal defense, with a concentration in drunk driving (DUI, OWI, DWI) and drunk boating (BUI, BWI) defense.
Paul is a proud member of the NORML Legal Committee. A devout civil libertarian, he believes that the prohibition of drug possession by adults has had even worse consequences than the failed experiment with alcohol prohibition in the 20th Century.
Paul is also experienced in small arms (pistol, revolver, rifle) having been a shooter since the age of 10. This personal experience comes in handy in defending persons accused of crimes involving weapons.
